Blog 6: Yes, I'm Obsessed with Tangible Media

Some of My Polaroids: In a world filled with digital cameras and smartphones, taking pictures has never been easier, but also feels a little less meaningful at times. A solution, polaroid! Polaroid cameras bring back the charm of instant, tangible photos. Instead of scrolling through thousands of pictures on a screen, you get to hold a physical print just seconds after snapping the shot. Polaroids make each photo feel special, offering the unmatched feeling of holding a memory in your hands. Polaroids also invite us to slow down and be intentional. With limited film and no delete button, each shot counts. It’s a refreshing change from digital photography. Endless retakes can make moments feel less genuine. When you use a Polaroid, you’re not just taking a picture, but rather creating a one-of-a-kind memory that can’t be replicated or edited. Finally, Polaroids bring a sense of nostalgia and connection that digital photos can’t match. Whether you’re ha...

Blog 5: Absolute Mayhem

Image
Watch this Vid First! In the  Allstate Mayhem ad, “Baseball Dad,” Mayhem plays the part of a distracted dad trying to back out of a driveway after a chaotic little league game. Naturally, things go wrong fast. He nearly crashes, tears up a lawn, and reminds us how quickly a normal day can turn into a mess. It’s over-the-top, but also painfully familiar. That’s the relatability of these ads; take everyday moments and show how unpredictable they can be. Image Source What’s smart is how the ad uses humor and relatable chaos to make a point. We all know the overwhelmed parent trope, and this taps right into it. It’s funny, but also a reminder that accidents don’t always happen during big moments. They happen in your own driveway. That “it could happen to you” vibe is strong here, as well as the plethora of other mayhem commercials. A strong point each and every one portrays humorously.  And that’s where Allstate steps in, not with a hard sell, but with a wink almost. Mayhem cause...

They're a creative outlet for me, or even a way to reconnect with my inner child. The simple act of snapping those colorful bricks together can be incredibly therapeutic. Plus, the sense of accomplishment you feel after completing a complex build is truly rewarding. Some LEGOS from my Personal Collection But LEGOs are more than just a fun pastime; they're a valuable learning tool for all ages. They encourage problem-solving to fine motor skills. Whether you're following instructions to build a detailed replica of the Eiffel Tower or free building your own fantastical creation, you're constantly engaging your brain and developing essential skills. Also, with the wide range of LEGO sets available, from Star Wars and Harry Potter to architecture and art, there's something...

Blog 3: The Taste of Nostalgia

The crinkle of the wrapper is the first sign. It's a familiar sound, a promise of something refreshing. The small, hard disc feels cool and smooth in your hand. The perfect little package of potential. You can almost feel the anticipation building as you get ready to enjoy it. It's not like other foods or snacks really, it's truly a different experience, an experience hard to put into words. Image Source - some vague mint candies. The way it moves in your mouth is interesting. It might melt slowly, or it might crunch, depending on how you choose to enjoy it. The flavor is a burst of cool, clean, and fresh that awakens your senses. It lacks spice, which I honestly favor. That's especially how it differs then the others it is compared to and or competing with. It's a taste that brings back memories of childhood, simple days after school asking my mom for one knowing she kept several in her purse. To this day when I open one, I travel to young elementary school me wit...
