Blog 1: Hobbies, My Happy Place

Balancing school, friends, and figuring out life can be a lot, but finding hobbies that chill you out is key. For me, that's diving into painting, getting lost in music, and geeking out over my collections. It's how I hit the reset button and keep my sanity. Hobbies provide an escape for many and contribute to a better overall well-being. So, these hobbies (and more) offer a balanced approach to leisure and personal enrichment.

When I'm not stressing about college, you can usually find me with a paintbrush in hand. I'm no Van Gogh, but there's something super therapeutic about slapping some color onto a canvas and seeing what happens. Music is always a must while painting, it helps get the vibes right! The music provides an extra layer of inspiration, transforming a simple painting session. Collecting is another one of my quirks. It started with something small, but now I'm obsessed. It's a fun way to learn about new stuff and connect with other people who are into the same things.

So, that's a little peek into how I spend my free time. Painting, music, and collecting aren't just hobbies for me, yet they're my escape, my creative outlet, and a way to connect with myself and others. Finding what you're passionate about is so important, especially when life gets crazy. It's all about making time for the things that make you happy and keep you grounded.

    This was such a well written introduction! It’s so amazing to get to read about others hobbies that keep their world spinning. Similar to the way you find peace in music, I find peace in playing music. Recently I picked up a guitar and just decided to give it a go. I’m definitely not going to be a recorded artist or anything but it does occupy my time and mind. I think hobbies are the best way for our minds to take a break and escape the constant stress from college, work, and just life. You said you aren’t Van Gogh, but I’d bet you’re amazing. I would definitely like to see some of your painting’s included in your blog in the future!
