Blogs: Where Everyone’s Got Something to Say Whether you Asked or Not.

Blogs are like a never-ending conversation, and this week, I was given my first experience of the never escaping conversation and universe of blogs. While blogs offer a platform of diverse voices, I believe they aren't regularly appealing for me (hypocritical, I know) and can't see myself reaching for them. However, after researching many, I came to particularly like the Rolling Stone blog which covers interesting stats and articles about music. Though, I also came across the stocks and investments blog Seeking Alpha that I wasn't as enthralled in. The blog page for the Rolling Stone is a very organized and a visual appealing blog I highly enjoy, whereas the Seeking Alpha blog does not appeal to me due to lack thereof.

Alright, so let's talk about these blogs, the Rolling Stone versus Seeking Alpha. It's kind of like comparing a rock concert to a class. Over on the Rolling Stones, they're providing music news, pop culture deep dives, and a little bit of politics, but it's all wrapped up in a jam that makes you want to keep reading. Also, upon visiting the site, you're greeted with rocking pictures and groovy colors that truly hook the reader in. Seeking Alpha, on the other hand, is like sitting through Econ 101. It's all about the numbers, stocks, and market analysis. Now, if you're into that, cool, but it's not exactly a page-turner for most of us. Unlike Rolling Stone, there weren't many pictures but rather a number conglomerate and charts. Rolling Stone just gets how to keep you hooked with jazzy stories and more, while Seeking Alpha is more like a textbook, informative, sure, but about as exciting as watching paint dry.

So, when it comes to blogs, it's clear that Rolling Stone and Seeking Alpha differ widely. One has great music and stories, while the other's crunching numbers in a quiet room. It really boils down to what you're looking for, a good time or a deep dive into the stock market. For most of us, Rolling Stone wins for its engaging style and broad appeal, proving that a blog's got to be more than just informative, but also a good read.
